FAQ
Which bikes is the U-RACK suitable for?
The U-RACK is suitable for many bike types, including mountain bikes, BMX, gravel bikes, road bikes, step-through bikes and e-bikes.
Your bike stands with both tires on the rests and is secured to the frame with a cord. A classic, straight top tube is therefore not required.
What matters is a bike weight of no more than 30 kg, a tire width of 100 mm at most and a suitable position for the cord on the frame. The wall and the anchor must be able to safely handle the load.
What is the difference between Regular and Premium?
The difference is mainly in the look: on the U-RACK Regular, the tire holders are made entirely of powder-coated steel. On Premium, steel and solid oak are combined.
Both variants carry bikes up to 30 kg and are suitable for tires up to 100 mm wide. Premium therefore does not offer a higher load capacity.
The way the cord is fastened also differs: on Premium, it is fastened back to the wall anchor after being looped around. On Regular, the loop is hooked onto the metal hook. You can find the respective steps in the mounting instructions.
Does the U-RACK also fit particularly wide handlebars?
Yes. The U-RACK has no fixed upper limit for handlebar width. The distance of the handlebar from the wall depends on the tilt angle of your bike.
You can influence this angle through the mounting height of the wall anchor: a wall anchor mounted lower makes the bike tilt further away from the wall, which creates more room for the handlebar.
Check the position with your bike before drilling. Handlebars, add-on parts and other bike parts must have sufficient distance from the wall.
How long is the cord?
The cord is 110 cm long and is doubled over when in use. The length therefore does not correspond to a wall distance of 110 cm.
The distance actually needed results from the frame shape, the mounting position of the wall anchor and the tilt angle of the bike.
How do I hang my bike?
Place both tires on the mounted tire holders. Then guide the cord around the frame and fasten it to the wall anchor or metal hook, depending on your variant.
Before you let go, check that both tires rest securely and that the cord holds the bike. The mounting instructions show you the exact handling for Regular and Premium.
Do I also need a D-STRAP?
No. The tire holders keep the front wheel in position and prevent it from turning sideways with the handlebar. An additional D-STRAP is therefore not required with the U-RACK.
Is the U-RACK suitable for carbon frames?
Yes, carbon frames are generally suitable. Make sure the cord sits cleanly against the frame and that no cables or protruding parts get pinched.
Can I mount the U-RACK on a plasterboard wall?
Of our bike wall mounts, the U-RACK is the best suited for plasterboard walls. Thanks to its design, the pull-out load is very low compared to our other mounts – so the wall plugs are pulled out of the wall less strongly.
Nevertheless, the wall construction and fastening must be suitable for the bike's weight. For suitable hollow walls, we recommend appropriate metal cavity anchors that fix behind the board. Check the load-bearing capacity of your wall and the manufacturer's specifications for the wall plugs before mounting.
The maximum bike weight is 30 kg, provided the wall and anchor can bear this load.
Can I reorder individual components or swap between Regular and Premium?
Yes. The components of Regular and Premium are interchangeable and can also be requested from us individually.
To do so, write to support@parax.de and tell us the parts you want and the variant you already have. We can offer and send you the components individually.
How do I clean the U-RACK?
For regular cleaning, a dry, soft microfiber cloth is enough. If you want to use a cleaning product, test it on an inconspicuous spot first. Avoid soaking the wooden parts.
